Wine Route

In the future, the Thermenregion Wienerwald is to attract even more guests

With the motto: "Together we can do more for our guests", the communities Perchtoldsdorf, Giesshübl, Hinterbrühl, Mödling, Gumpoldskichen, Pfaffstätten, Baden, Sooss, Bad Vöslau, Kottingbrunn, Leobersdorf, Schönau, Sollenau, Günselsdorf, Teesdorf, Tattendorf, Oberwaltersdorf, Trumau, Traiskirchen, Guntramsdorf, Maria Enzersdorf and Brunn am Gebirge joined forces to create the new "Wine Route Thermenregion", which will offer a great variety of wines and attractions related to wine.

"We have undertaken this step because we want to make our guests more aware of the special characteristics of our region. The individual communities are currently collecting all their unique traits related to wine and working out a concept", says project manager Günter Riedl. "Quality and a harmonious, inviting image of all these communities are of the utmost importance to us".
"The wine route is synonymous with high quality. This is the central element of our campaign in the tourism market. We have already established obligatory quality criteria."

"The members, i.e. the communities, vintner's taverns, winegrowers, wine inns, vinotheques, restaurants, hotels, boarding houses, etc. will gain additional advantages from uniform signage, an uninterrupted route, further development of the offers as well as joint activities and marketing."

The way in which we implement this idea is to reflect the great diversity in the field of wine and wine culture.
A working group (ARGE) has been founded, affiliated to and legally integrated into the Tourist Board Thermenregion-Wienerwald, in order to take care of all aspects of marketing related to the Wine Route Thermenregion.

As chairman of the Tourist Board and Mayor of Baden, August Breininger, who is also a member of the Provincial Parliament, regards this project as especially significant.

The ARGE will take care of a co-ordinated implementation of the project "Wine Route Thermenregion" and manage the marketing activities with the individual enterprises.

This body is composed of representatives of the Weinforum Thermenregion, of the winegrowers' district associations as well as of the regional tourist boards.

At the moment, the members are busy working out the routes in the communities, implementing a uniform signage system and adapting the structure of the member enterprises. It is the objective to involve 150 to 160 enterprises in the working group!

It is planned to implement the project by autumn 2001.
